In Resident Evil the Umbrella Chronicles spielt ihr 4 Kapitel wovon 3 Kapitel aus den Früheren Resident Evil Teilen bekannt sein sollten. In allen 4 Kapiteln müsst ihr 3 Hauptmissionen bestreiten und wenn diese beendet wurden kann man je nach Levelauswahl noch 2-4 Nebenmissionen auswählen. Hier wird erzählt was passiert während die Hauptcharaktere ihr Abenteuer bestreiten. Unter anderem kann man Wesker, Ada und HUNK
Freispielen. Es gibt 3 Verschiedene Schwierigkeitsgrade Einfach, Normal und Schwer unterscheiden tun sich diese nur in der Zahl der Gegner, den Treffern die man zum besiegen für sie braucht und die Stärke dieser Gegner. Die Missionen werden am Ende immer mit einen Buchstaben der einer Note entspricht ausgezeichnet. Ziel ist es alles auf ``S´´ zu bekommen. Es gibt 5 Verschiede Waffen die es gilt erst zu finden und dann aufzutunen. Darunter befinden sich Schrotgewehre, Maschinengewehre, Granatenwerfer, Magnums und Raketenwerfer. Es gibt jeweils 3 Waffen pro Waffentyp die sich in Stärke, Schnelligkeit, Magazingröße und Munitiongröße unterscheiden. Hat man es geschafft auf Schwer alle Missionen auf „S“ zu haben kann man seine Waffen auf Unendlich Munition tunen was das noch mal spielen ungemein fördert.
